Indonesian Ambassador to Poland Hazairin Pohan received in his office of Mufti Tomasz Miskiewicz of the Islamic Religious Union in Poland with his assistant Ms Dagmara Sulkiewicz who came to discuss the visit to Indonesia to establish contacts with the Indonesian Council of Ulemas (MUI) and the preparation of the Indonesian Days Program at Bialystok in March 2010.
January 12
Ambassador Hazairin Pohan attended a reception on the occasion of the celebration of the Iraqi Armed Forces Day at the invitation of the Ambassador of Iraq H.E. Dr. Walid Shiltagh and Defence Attache SBG Ghalib Al-Obaidi. Ambassador Pohan congratulated the Ambassador of Iraq and the attending officials in the reception line and expressed his best wishes for the state and the people of Iraq as well as for the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
January 15 - 16
The Department of Ethnology of the Nicolaus Copernicus University in Torun in cooperation with the Polish Red Cross as well as the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Warsaw organized a charity event “Indonesian Carnival,” from which the entire profit was transferred to help the victims of the tragic earthquake in West Sumatra.
Some 150 spectators at the State Ethnographic Museum in Torun, a city in central Poland where Nicolaus Copernicus was born, could watch a concert of Balinese and Javanese dances and listen to Gamelan music performed by Poles who had been scholarship students in Indonesia. Next followed the opening of a painting exhibition entitled “The Island of the Sun” of the Polish painter Waldemar Kakareko, who had spent several weeks in Bali. The culminating point of the evening was the performance of the Indonesian shadow theater Wayang Kulit. After the concert the audience could see one of the latest Indonesian films ”Berbagi suami” (Husband for Two).
On the next day, workshops were held in the Museum halls. Some 50 persons of various age groups took part. Some of them even tried their hand at playing the Gamelan instruments.
January 20
Ambassador Hazairin Pohan attended a concert of Chopin music on the occasion of the inaugurating the Chopin Year 2010 by the Sejm of the Republic of Poland at the invitation of the Speaker of the Sejm H.E. Mr. Bronislaw Komorowski.
January 26
Ambassador Pohan, on behalf of the Indonesian Embassy and himself, signed the condolence book at the Embassy of Malaysia on the passing away of the former King of Malaysia and former Foreign Minister.
Ambassador Hazairin Pohan received a courtesy visit in his office by the newly arrived Ambassador of Algeria H.E. Abdelkader Khemri, who was accompanied by First Secretary Cherif Hacene. During the visit the two Ambassadors expressed their commitment to the strengthening of bilateral cooperation between their two countries as well continuing the traditional friendship at a personal level.
Ms. Any Muryani, Counsellor of the Information Section, on behalf of the Indonesian Ambassador to the Republic of Poland attended The Day of Islam in the Catholic Church in Poland at the invitation of Bishop Romuald Kaminski, President of the Committee for Dialogue with Non-Christian Religions of the Council for the Interreligious Dialogue of the Polish Bishops’ Conference.

Ambassador Pohan accompanied by First Secretary M Timoer Poerwonggo met with Kazimierz Pazgan the owner of KONSPOL HOLDING S.A to discuss the investment plan by the Polish company in Indonesia on food production in the poultry sector.
January 29
Ambassador and Madame Hazairin attended a farewell dinner in their honor and in honor of the Ambassador of Vietnam H.E. Mr. Xuong, hosted by the Ambassador of Mongolia H.E. Otgon Dambiinyam at the Hyatt Regency Hotel.

Ambassador and Madame Hazairin Pohan attended an opera performance entitled “Chopin” in the Wroclaw Opera House in the southwestern Polish city of Wroclaw at the invitation of the Director of the Wroclaw Opera Mrs. Ewa Michnik.
